Another hit out of the ball park.For me, when characters in a second chance love story first split up, it should be believable and unavoidable. Here, it is, for the most part. Ryker wanted to follow his dream. Understandable. He wanted Nicole to go with him. She didn't feel she could leave her father. Also understandable. The situation felt very real to me. Even so, I loved that Nicole made Ryker work to get her back. And once they were back together, it was totally believable when it wasn't always sunshine and roses. Their struggles, her to trust him again and him to come to terms with her baby's father, was so real. I could absolutely see it playing out like that in real life. But it also wasn't over the top. I also love how Harms set up the next couple books in the series and totally can't wait to read them.

Love this series
I love C.A.Harms and gobble up everything that you writes. Ryker and Nicole's story is a short and sweet tale of second-chance love. I really love how Harms's books just jump right into the meat of the story. Her characters are always so instantly likable. The chemistry between Ryker and Nicole is evident right from the beginning and really liked their first "run-in" with one another after Ryker comes back from the military. The only thing that kept me from "loving" this book was that I would have liked to have seen Ryker have to work a bit harder and longer to win Nicole back. I thought that happened a bit too fast and took some of the wind out of my sails. The book moves along after that at a pretty quick pace and I would have liked to see more plot line or angst between Ryker and Nicole since I kept waiting for something more to happen and felt a little disappointed when the conflict in the story turned out not being a very big one. Other than that the steam between these two was great and I enjoyed the introduction of Ryker's "brothers". Overall, I enjoyed this quick read and can't wait for the next.

Another winner by this author! Her books never disappoint! Loved Ryker from the start of the book. Didn't want to put it down to go to work lol
Great start to a new series. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next one. Loved all the characters and hope they all get their own books.
I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading book two. I love Ryker and am sure to love Ben as well. I really like that this book took place in Alabama as that is where i live. Now i will not be able to go through Arab without looking for Ryker <3
Nicole and Ryker were young sweethearts. But he broke her heart when he broke his promise to her after leaving for the Marines. He thought he was doing what was best for her but it backfired on him because she lost herself and made bad decisions in her grief.
Now he is back and determined to get her back.
The one thing that annoyed me about Ryker was how he couldn't accept she had been with someone else when you knew he hadn't been a boyscout. Their friend Randall finally called him out on it.
I think things were put back together and tied up neatly kind of quick. It had been five years, seems like they should of taken more time getting to know the new them.
